We are pleased to announce that Tatsumura Art & Textile will hold an exhibition as follows.
The 77th Tatsumura Exhibition “Ayanasukai”
[Date] Thursday, August 31 and Friday, September 1, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
[Venue] Kyoto Sangyo Kaikan Hall, North Room

Kyoto Economic Center 2F
No reservation is required and admission is free.
The name of the exhibition, “Ayanasukai”, was given by Heizo Tatsumura I and is taken from the Chinese poem “貝錦斐成, 濯色江波” (Beautiful brocade like a pattern of shells, beautiful and colorful like brocade woven by gathering brightly colored threads) by Sashi (late 3rd century), a scholar of literature in the Jin Dynasty.
At the exhibition, we will have a wide variety of popular fukuro obi and nagoya obi, as well as miscellaneous goods and bags that are the talk of the town, and our expert staff will be on hand to guide you through the show. In addition, we will be presenting a new pattern for Halloween, “Kissho Hide and Seek,” and new patterns for next year’s Chinese zodiac, “Zuiryu Soshu-mon” and “Sarasa Unryu-mon,” respectively.
You will be able to hold the actual products in your hands and experience the appeal of our “art textiles” in a tangible way at this event. We sincerely hope that you will take this opportunity to visit our booth.
